Growth Factors FAQs
Growth factors are naturally occurring proteins that play a vital role in promoting hair growth and maintaining hair follicle health. Growth Factor injections are done in the office and take approximately 30min-60 minutes to complete. First, blood is drawn from the patient and then processed into Growth Factor which concentrates the growth factors and signaling messengers in the sample. This is then injected within the hair follicles with small syringes and needles. Once the treatment is complete the patient is allowed to go home and encouraged to wash their hair that evening.
It is recommended to have 3-4 treatments for maximum benefit. Typically the treatments occur every 1-2 months and maximum results are judged 4 months. After the first set of treatments are completed, additional upkeep treatments every 6 months are recommended to maintain results.
