What is Brow Lift?
A brow lift (forehead lift) is done to lift the forehead and eyebrows that have fallen over time. The shape of the eyebrow changes over time and the height of brow can also fall as we age. By restoring a youthful contour and position to the eyebrow we can help make the eyes look more open and alert.
Additionally, a brow lift can help soften the deep wrinkles in the forehead by permanently affecting the muscles that are their cause. Brow lift surgery is commonly done in conjunction with eyelid or philadelphia blepharoplasty surgery. It is also commonly done as a component of a larger facial rejuvenation surgery including brow lift, lower and upper eyelid surgery, and facelift surgeries for maximal results. General anesthesia is usually not necessary for this procedure alone.
The direct brow lift places the incisions just above the eyebrows. This procedure is not the most commonly done but is very effective in men with heavy set brows and deep forehead wrinkles
Am I a Candidate for Brow Lift Surgery?
Ideal patients for brow lift Surgery have heavy eyebrows and complain of a “tired” or “angry” appearance to the face. Elevation of the brow with your hands in the mirror will demonstrate the proposed effects of a browlift and can achieve a more youthful and refreshed appearance. As with all of our elective procedures patients should be non-smokers, in good health, and have realistic expectations.

What is an Endoscopic Brow Lift?
The Endoscopic Browlift is minimally invasive procedure that is done with a small camera which allows the access incisions for the browlift to be very small and well hidden in the hairline. Using the camera the tissues around the brows are released and lifted into a more youthful position. Muscles that cause deep wrinkles and frown lines can also be directly treated with this technique. Recovery is typically quicker given the minimally invasive nature of the procedure.
What is a Trichophytic or Pretrichial Brow Lift?
A Trichophytic or Pretrichial brow lift is done via an incision placed along the hairline. This provides superb access to the underlying structures and gives great long term results. This technique may be chosen for patients who show early signs of hair loss or who have a high hairline already.
This technique allows an open approach to the brows without making the hairline even higher. The incision is carefully closed and it heals without any visible scar.

The Coronal brow lift places the incisions a few centimeters behind the hairline and was the most common brow lift done in the past. More minimally invasive techniques are now performed in lieu of this procedure.
What is a Lateral Temporal Lift?
A Lateral Temporal brow lift specifically addresses the position of the outer half of the eyebrow only. This procedure lifts the outer portion and more specifically the peak of the arch, into a higher more youthful position. The small incisions are placed in the temporal region hidden in the hair.
