Overview of Rhinoplasty
A rhinoplasty reshapes nasal structure to improve proportions and support facial harmony.
Structural Reshaping
Dr. Lozada adjusts the bone and cartilage to change how the nose projects, aligns, and balances the face. Thus the proportions feel symmetric from every angle and keeps results connected to your natural features.
Who It Helps
This procedure is best fit for patients who want aesthetic refinement, while still looking like themselves. Some seek subtle profile balance, while others want correction after an injury, to rectify asymmetry, or to address long-standing structural concerns.
Form & Function
Dr. Lozada addresses structural and breathing concerns as part of the overall evaluation. That combined lens helps patients avoid a purely cosmetic plan that ignores airflow.
Technique Selection
Every rhinoplasty requires a tailored approach. Dr. Lozada has extensive training in multiple rhinoplasty techniques and specializes in both endonasal “scarless” and open rhinoplasty, allowing him to tailor his approach for each patient in Philadelphia.
Refined, Not Reinvented
Results designed to complement and enhance your natural features.

Benefits of This Procedure
Improved Breathing
Rhinoplasty corrects structural issues in your nose for a smoother airflow and easier breathing. More than just cosmetic surgery, it enhances your quality of life.
Enhanced Appearance
Your nose sits center stage on your face. Rhinoplasty provides an opportunity to sculpt it into a symmetrical shape, thus harmonizing your facial features.
Boosted Self-Esteem
Dr. Lozada is an expert in rhinoplasty. Living with a nose you love enhances your self-confidence, empowering you to stride into every room, meeting, or date with your head held high.
Hello, I’m Dr. Kirk Lozada.
Hello, I’m Dr. Kirk Lozada. Surgery runs in my blood—I became a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon because of my father, who introduced me to the profession at an early age.
My practice focuses on rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, and functional breathing, but really, what matters most to me is my patients.
When we sit down, we’ll talk about what you’re hoping to change and figure out what makes sense for your features. I believe balance is beauty, and I approach every patient outcome with that in mind. Having great results and happy patients? That’s the best part of this job.

Your Surgical Timeline
Consultation
Your rhinoplasty consultation will begin with a discussion about your goals for surgery. Dr. Lozada will take the time to understand your concerns and will then examine your nose and discuss his findings with you.
Vectra 3D Imaging
Vectra 3D imaging allows us to model potential rhinoplasty outcomes during your consultation. Seeing changes from multiple angles helps patients understand how adjustments to the nose can improve facial balance.
Surgical Planning
State-of-the-art 3D photographs will be taken of your nose with the Vectra imaging system. These will be analyzed with advanced real-time morphing software during your consultation to show you the results of the proposed changes.
Procedure Day
Surgeons typically conduct rhinoplasty as an outpatient procedure with the patient being under general anesthesia. During surgery, Dr. Lozada reshapes bone and cartilage to refine structure while preserving or enhancing the natural support of the nose.
Initial Recovery
Doctors expect swelling and bruising in the early phase of healing, which generally peak during the first week. As the initial swelling improves, many patients begin returning to normal routines while continuing to follow post-operative care instructions.

Dr. Lozada is amazing. He has wonderful bedside manner that makes you feel very comfortable for whatever you are getting done. I have seen him for both a consultation after I broke my nose and was in a ski accident as well as for filler/Botox injections. He is precise and his work is beautiful. He goes above and beyond to make sure he understands what your desired results are and that you are satisfied afterwards. He was even available for me to ask him post procedure questions. I can’t recommend Dr. Lozada enough! Another bonus, he has a gorgeous office and very friendly staff.- Megan S

Frequently Asked Questions
Endonasal or “closed rhinoplasty” is an advanced technique in which all the incisions are inside the nose, so that no external scarring is visible after surgery. These incisions give access to the bone and cartilage structures of the nose and allow your surgeon to achieve the desired result.
You may have a better post-op experience with less bruising, swelling, or pain, allowing you to get back to daily life more quickly. Not everyone is a candidate for endonasal rhinoplasty, and Dr. Lozada will discuss this with you during your consultation.
In open rhinoplasty, the surgeon makes a small incision at the base of the nose to allow direct access to the bone and cartilage. The surgeon makes the incision in an area that is not noticeable. The scar heals beautifully and becomes invisible a few months after surgery. Surgeons recommend open rhinoplasty for individuals requiring significant nasal tip modification, structurally improving twisted noses, or revision rhinoplasty.
Yes, in many cases it can. If your nose’s natural structure contributes to restricted airflow, Dr. Lozada can evaluate that during your consultation. When getting a nose job in Philadelphia at Lozada Facial Plastic Surgery, our goal is to address what truly makes sense for your anatomy. We won’t promise change if your nose’s shape may not allow it.
Rhinoplasty recovery happens gradually. While a large portion of the visible swelling improves within the first 4 to 6 weeks, it’s normal for subtle swelling to continue for several months.
You should not perform any exercises or heavy lifting for 1 weeks after surgery. Most of the swelling will have gone by 2 to 3 weeks, and it will gradually continue to subside for weeks after. Your nose will continue to heal for months after your rhinoplasty procedure, so the final results will not be visible until a year later. Visible scarring is typically minimal, and any visible scars that do remain are often subtle and fade over time.
